Mid Hants Railway (Watercress Line) Gala March 2006

Photos taken on arrival of Project 62 USA Tank locomotive 30075 at Alresford on the afternoon of 28th February 2006, after a 90 mile road journey from Cranmore at the East Somerset Railway. The weather as you can see deteriorated for a short while before Yankee Tank was hitched up to resident Class "08" shunter and hauled to Ropley for preparation. Thanks to Chris Cornell of the Mid Hants Railway for the first photo below of 30075 on the wagon waiting to be unloaded. All other images are by Richard White.

Having hauled 30075 to Ropley, the 08 shunter pulls away amid smoke from the other locomotives. Gentle fires in all will prevent frost damage overnight
