Mid Hants Railway - "The Watercress Line" Gala - March 2006

Having made the 90 mile journey by road from Cranmore to Alresford in Hampshire, 30075 performed a variety of duties from filling in for Merchant Navy Class 35005 "Canadian Pacific" on one full line run on Friday 3rd March to operating short freight demonstration trains on Sunday 5th March.

One highlight for Project 62 members attending the event was a "reunion" of former Southampton Docks Shunter, Drummond B4 0-4-0T "Normandy" with a Yankee Tank. The two Classes worked closely together during and shortly after World War II before the surviving B4 Class locomotives were sold "life expired" by British Rail in 1949.

The photos below, courtesy of Project 62 members Peter Renaut and Dave Brown show some of the activities (and even famous personalities) who came to admire USA Class 62 Locomotive 30075.
