Photos of Class 62's from Rudstroj Engineering in Kakanj - 17th March 2009

Rudstroj Engineering (P.D. Rudstroj d.d.) are based at the mine in Kakanj in Bosnia & Herzegovina. Kakanj is located roughly half way between Sarajevo and Zenica. Once part of the mine operation, Rudstroj is now an independent heavy engineering and steel fabrication concern in addition to providing maintenance and overhaul services for steam locomotives at Kakanj and elsewhere in Bosnia.

62-020 is currently the only original USATC S100 American built Class 62 operational in the Balkans and is based at the mine in Kakanj. Overhauled by Rudstroj in 2006, it was out-shopped in June that year. A second USATC S100, number 62-019, is stored at Kakanj whilst a third Class 62 at the mine, Djuro Djakovic built number 62-366, was overhauled in 2008.
