Project 62 Member's Day 17th July 2005 Coinciding almost to the day in 2004 when Project 62's USA type Class 62 locomotive 30075 was launched back into traffic on the East Somerset Railway after a six year overhaul, the owners of the locomotive held their Annual Member's Day at Cranmore. Whilst ESR based "Taffy Tank" 5637 hauled the service and dining train on the running line, 30075 was specially steamed solely for member's to drive and have footplate rides in the shunt area between Cranmore and Cranmore West stations. 16 members also enjoyed dinner on the excellent "Mendip Belle" lunch time dining service. Photos below show some of the events, finishing with the last two service trains of the day which were "double headed" with USA Tank 30075 and GWR 0-6-2T 5637. The Group's thanks are extended to the East Somerset Railway for the excellent day provided and look forward to 2006 when it is planned to hold the Project 62 AGM at Cranmore for the first time.
